A lot of companies are focussing on skill-based hiring now. This has gained a lot of traction in the US and is slowly catching up in India. That is the reason that recruiters are slowly resorting to blind hiring now under which a skill evaluation is done before the candidate is referred to the recruiter. Bengaluru: In the AI (artificial intelligence) age, many innovative hiring methods like blind hiring, and hiring without certificate are slowly picking up in the technology industry. These hiring methods are not restricted to technology industry alone and are being followed for other key sectors, HR industry leaders said.
According to HR industry leaders, AI tools like ChatGPT, Grok and others make it difficult for recruitment firms to distinguish between resumes, prompting them to resort to bling hiring methods.
In blind hiring method, information like name, gender, age, ethnicity, and even educational background are removed from applications and resumes. Rather, the evaluation happens based on skills and experience.
